⚠️ Kavango birding tourists plan their trips 3–6 months out. They book the lodge they can find online. Make sure they find you first.
Shamvura Camp sits on the banks of the Kavango River, one of Namibia's most overlooked and rewarding destinations. While the country's south draws the crowds to dunes and desert, up here in the north the landscape shifts to riverine forest, papyrus reed beds and dense miombo woodland.
The camp is small by design. We want guests to feel the quiet, not be surrounded by activity. Wake up to the bark of baboons, the splash of a hippo and the Okavango rolling past. Spend your days on the river, in the forest, or simply watching Namibia's most productive birdlife work the waterways.
✅ No 4x4 required for main access road. Standard vehicles welcome.
